I just want to take a moment to publicly recognize and thank the amazing staff who helped respond to the Hiawatha Church shooting on Easter Sunday.

Paul and I were simply beaming with pride to watch the team in action.  So, please join me in thanking Bob Hansen, Ron Seigman, Judy Bertschinger, Nicole Hutchinson, Nicole Kozlowski, Terri Notte, Christina Fowler, Krista Hiner and Darlene McGee.  Each of you embodied the mission and the values of Signature Health!

This church community is so tight knit. There were probably 75 members who came that Wednesday evening to process the trauma that happened.  At first they were a little timid to begin sharing feelings, but once they got started they really got on a roll.

We've made special arrangements to work with any of the church members should they need our help in the future, regardless of ability to pay, so if you know any of the members or are approached by them, please encourage them to seek out the help.

 

A special congratulations to Judy Bertschinger who was recognized this past week by the Ashtabula County Children Services Board with their Above and Beyond Award!  This award is bestowed upon a community member for outstanding contributions to the children served by CSB.  In their commentary they talked about Judy making herself available to a family in crisis anytime day or night, even at 2am!  Judy has made a huge impact on the children's lives she works with in the Intensive In-Home program.  The CSB workers know what a gem she has been and I wanted to make sure everyone else knows.  Thanks Judy and congratulations!

Thanks to all those who came out in support of our SH Foundation Benefit at Cebars in Madison.  We were raising funds to provide personal hygiene products for clients and community members later this summer at the countywide Back To School event being held at the Ashtabula Fairgrounds.

Initial reports are that we raised approximately $1600.00!
