Signature Connections Linkage

Its been a long time since I posted a new Journal so I thought it was about time to update everyone on what I have been focusing on. 2017 is a trans-formative year for Signature Health, Connections, Family Planning of North East Ohio, and Orca House as we come together to craft one dynamic new agency.

To lead this transformation, I have developed a steering committee of 24 members who will be planning how to bring the four organizations together operationally, culturally, and strategically.  Those 24 have broken up into subcommittees to develop plans for various functional areas such as HR, Finance, IT, Clinical Operations, etc.  The steering committee will be meeting again in May to review the progress each subcommittee has made.

This linkage work is critical.  I have never been a part of a project like this before, but everything I read says that "culture will eat strategy for lunch"...  So I am focused on making sure we get this right.

The subcommittee plans will be developed by the end of September and we will bring them together to make one master plan which will be shared widely and often.

I will update everyone on our progress after the Steering Committee meets again in May.
340 B Program

Now that Signature Health has achieved designation as an FQHC we are now eligible to participate in the 340B program.

The 340B program is a pharmaceutical purchasing program where eligible safety net providers can purchase pharmaceuticals at deeply discounted prices, often as much as 50% on brand name medications!  This discount will allow us to provide medications for patients on a sliding scale regardless of their ability to pay!  It will also allow us to fund other priorities and expand programs.

Our Willoughby location was able to be enrolled into the program as of April 1st, 2017 so they are just in the learning curve.  Our locations in Ashtabula and Garfield will become enrolled on July 1st, 2017.

If you work with a Signature Health patient who qualifies for Medicaid or our new reduced sliding scale please encourage them to fill thier prescriptions at our pharmacy because we will be able to get them the medication cheaper than anywhere else they would go, often by a large amount!
