Learning About Healthy Living: Tobacco and You

This is a two-group program designed to help you quit smoking!

Group 1
  • This is an ongoing group to help smokers consider moving towards a tobacco-free lifestyle.
  • Participants will learn about other issues related to healthy living such as nutrition, physical activity, and stress management. 
  • The group will provide detailed information regarding the risks associated with smoking, what is in cigarettes, the benefits of quitting smoking, ways to quit smoking, and general healthy lifestyle behaviors that can assist them in quitting smoking. 
  • Participants can continue coming to Group 1 as long as they would like to, and will only advance to Group 2 when they have decided that they are ready to take action and quit smoking.  
  • Participants can attend even if they have no interest in quitting at this time. 
  • Registration is required for this group, and participants can start whenever they would like to.

Day and time: Every Thursday
     1:00 - 2:30 p.m.

Group 2
  • This group is for smokers who are ready to try to quit smoking in the next month. 
  • This group emphasizes techniques for quitting to improve success and reduce risk of relapse. 
  • Participants will be able to get medications if desired during this time. 
  • This group will be every Thursday, and it will last 8 weeks.
  • To be successful, it is recommended that participants attend all group sessions. Registration is required for this group, and it will start on a specific date every 8 weeks.
