Ohio Benefit Bank




The Ohio Benefit Bank is an Internet-based program that promotes economic empowerment by helping low- and moderate-income Ohioans file their tax returns for free, while simultaneously assessing their eligibility for a range of critical tax credits and work supports, such as child care, utility assistance and food assistance.


The OBB provides help with/access to:
  • State/Federal Income Tax Preparation and Electronic Filing
  • Earned Income/Child Care Tax Credits
  • Food Assistance (SNAP)
  • Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
  • USDA Child Nutrition Programs
  • Healthcare Programs for Children and Families
  • Medicaid for the Aged, Blind, and Disabled
  • Medicare Premium Assistance
  • Child and Family Health Services (CFHS)
  • Bureau for Children with Medical Handicaps (BCMH)
  • Extra Help for Medicare Part D
  • Ohio's Best Rx

Programs supported by The Ohio Benefit Bank are available to help Ohioans, including those that are working. These programs can provide resources to individuals who may be having a hard time making ends meet, while boosting the money spent in our communities.

Ohioans now have the ability to complete all applications that are supported by The Ohio Benefit Bank on their own from any computer that has internet access using the Ohio Benefit Bank Self-Serve.

Additionally, Signature Health, Inc. has trained Benefit Bank Counselors available in Asthabula, Garfield Heights, and Willoughby to help those in need with filing taxes and/or completing applications. In Ashtabula, OBB counselors can also assist clients with completing applications for SSDI and SSI. Benefit Bank Counselors will walk you through the process of completing an application, help you understand which documents are necessary when applying for programs, and help navigate you through the follow-up instructions when necessary.
